A hobby legend passes – Bobby Thomson

Bobby Thomson passed away Monday at his home in Savannah, GA. He was best known for his 1951 “Shot heard around the World” home run which won the Pennant for the Giants. He was a legend to the TTM autograph world, signing anything that was sent to his home.

Word about his passing reached popular internet message boards early this morning, and the wonderful comments about this great man starting pouring in.

“There will be an avalanche of stories on this message board and elsewhere about what a wonderful man Mr. Thomson was,and they’ll all be right. This hobby has lost a friend, and American sports has lost an icon.”

“Tragic news, a huge loss… A great ballplayer, an even better man and one of the greatest friends this hobby has ever had.”

“If there is ever a TTM Hall of Fame Mr. Thomson will be a unanimous member of the inaugural class! RIP Bobby and my thoughts to his family on this sad day.”

Rest in peace Mr. Thomson. Your legacy will never be forgotten.
